1984 Shillers Furniture Store

On Monday October 22nd 1984, the box was struck for a Building fire in a 1 story furniture store with heavy fire conditions upon arrival. The fire went to 6 alarms and took the lives of three Baltimore County Firefighters...



1987 Amtrak Train De-railment in Chase
A Sunday  January 4th 1987, a date that know one will ever forget. Just after 12:30 the box was struck for a train de-railment in chase.



1997 F-117 Stealth Fighter
On September 17th 1997, while performing at the Chesapeake Air Show at Martin State Airport. The F-117 Stealth lost its wing and crashed into a residential neighborhood.

August 8th 2002
7 Alarm Mulch / Pallet Fire

in Sparrows point

On August 8th 2002, the Crews From Middle River VFC Operated on this fire for two days. For the Exception of re-location Truck 221 flowed ladder pipe the entire time it was there, an estimated 36 hours. Engine 223 Pumped a total of 32 hours.



Hurricane Isabel
On September 18th 2003. The entire east coast prepared for one of the worst Hurricane to hit the US in Several Years. Even Though The Carolina's were hit the hardest, The east side of Baltimore County suffered extensive damage.

November 2nd 2003
Natural Gas Explosion in Essex, Two Firefighters Trapped

Sunday November 2nd 2003, Company 22 was alerted for a natural gas leak in a dwelling. Along with engine 7 -71 and truck 15. Moments after engines 7&71 arrived the entire duplex exploded trapping two firefighters

March 9th 2005
2 Dwellings off in Middle River and a third dwelling severely damaged due to radiant heat.

On Wednesday March 9th box 22-3 was struck for a dwelling fire, While en route crews could see a large column of think black smoke and when arrived found 1 dwelling fully involved and a second heavily involved.

Since our existence in 1943, the MRVFC has responded  to many incidents over the years, in the eastern section of Baltimore County MD. Some which have made National News, many of which we will never forget and a few that have left a small chalk mark in the backs of our minds....
