The Birth Of Are Ladder Truck
In 1983 The Middle River Volunteer
Fire Company Looks
into starting a much needed service.
Ladder or Truck Companies play a very important roll
on the Fireground. Not only is the truck crew responsible for laddering a structure, they
are also responsible for search & rescue, ventilation, salvage and overhaul. They
carry a large amount of tools to do just about any job a firefighter can be confronted
with on a Fireground. Here in Baltimore County Truck Companies are also used in vehicle
extrication along with Squad/Rescue Companies, carrying Extrication tools such a Spreaders
( jaws of life), Rams and Cutters.
Since
Truck 15 (Eastview) was the only truck
company on the east side of Baltimore County, the MRVFC decided to
investigate the possibility of purchasing a used ladder truck to help reduce
property damage, save lives and to protect our own in the neighborhoods of
Eastern Baltimore County
